Pindari Glacier (7 N / 8 D)

Overview:

A landscape that has been an inspiration for many artists which is situated in the Kumaon Himalayas surely is a treat for all trekkers and mountaineers. The Pindari Glacier trek is one of those treks that leaves you in complete awe of the surroundings. You can also pay a visit to the local villages and get to know about their culture and traditions in detail. Stunning water bodies, charming wooden bridges have their own charm and will make your trek even more satisfying.

 

 

Detailed Itinerary:

Day 1 : Kathgodam – Loharkhet(241 kms, 8 kms drive)

On arrival at Kathgodam Railway Station our services start from here. Our tour operator will meet and assist you in Kathgodam. Later drive towards Loharkhet, which will take around 8-9 hrs to reach. En-route visit Bhimtal and Almora and keep moving towards Loharkhet. On reach check inn to the hotel; take rest, have your dinner and overnight stay in Loharkhet.

 

Day 2 : Loharkhet – Dhakuri(8 kms trek)

Morning after having breakfast start your trek to Dhakuri, a 8 kms trek which will take around 4-5 hrs to complete. On this trail, you'll get to see a blend of both rhododendrons and oak trees which add a different charm to the environment. Dhakuri is the gateway to Pindari. On reach take rest at campsite, have your dinner and overnight stay in Dhakuri.

 

Day 3 : Dhakuri – Khati(11 kms trek)

Morning after having breakfast, we’ll keep moving towards Khati which will take around 5-6 hrs to complete.  Khati is an ideal spot for the trekkers and backpackers. You'll be able to see some of the stunning peaks such as Nandabaner, Nandakot and Laspadhura form Khati. Have your dinner and overnight stay in Khati.

 

Day 4 : Khati – Phurkia(16 kms trek)

Early morning after having breakfast, we’ll keep moving towards Phurkia via Dwali. While descending you'll have to be a bit careful as the soil is loose on this trail. Dwali is on the other side of the river from where you'll be able to see the Pindari Valley on the left and the Kafni Valley on the right. Both the rivers, Pindari and Kafni meet at a point where the village is located. After reaching Phurkia, enjoy your dinner and night stay at campsite.

 

Day 5 : Phurkia – Pindari Glacier – Dwali(total 16 kms trek)

Early morning after having breakfast we’ll be heading to zero point (Pindari Glacier) and then come back to Dwali. The weather at the Pindari Glacier fluctuates a lot so it is important that you keep a note of time. It is a beautiful walk toward the Pindari Glacier which will thrill you to the fullest. You will finally see the Pindari Glacier which is 5kms long. Later move your way back to Dwali via Phurkia. Enjoy your dinner and night stay at campsite.

 

Day 6 : Dwali – Dhakuri(19 kms trek)

Today will be one of the longest trekking days on this trek where you'll have to walk for almost 18 kms. It is a 7-8 hours trek and we’ll begin after having our morning breakfast. On reach take rest, enjoy your dinner and overnight stay in Dhakuri.

 

Day 7 : Dhakuri – Bageshwar(8 kms trek / 56 kms drive)

This is the last day of your trek. Morning after having breakfast, we’ll keep moving back towards Bageshwar which will take 6-7 hours to reach. Check inn to the hotel and take rest. Later enjoy your dinner and overnight stay in Bageshwar.

 

Day 8 : Bageshwar – Kathgodam(156 kms, 6 hrs drive)

Today is your last day of the trip. Morning after having breakfast; we’ll keep moving back towards Kathgodam. I hope you enjoyed a lot. And it’s time to get back to your home. Thank You.
